hi,

well here's what you have to do...

as you have just one male you must try to use it so: put that male and the female with the plump tummy in the reproduction aquarium (any other fish from there must be taken out). make sure the water has at least 25 cm height. now here's a verry important thing: cover the glass of the awuarium so that the fish can't see you, they get scared verry fast during the reproduction... also try to avoid the aquarium area as much as possible...

the male should start building the nest in few hours (if it is old enough) - what length does it have?

also put some floating plants in order to help the bubble nest building... and some plants in the corners of the aquarium in order to assure hiding places for the female (the male will beat her...)

that's all for the beginning... if you have any other questions feel free to ask, i'll try to help as much as i can :)

you'll see that after the first sucessful reproduction everything will seem so simple... :)

good luck!

i'll wait for news

ok. im new to all of this. i have just purchased a female gourami. i already had a male and a female. but i needed more. i now have 3 females and one male. the male is smaller. the two new females are bigger. and one of the new females has a plump tummy. there is no bubble nest or anything. im not even sure if he knows what to do. there are also 4 corydora fish, one pleco, and a male beta with them. they all live happily in 78 F water. with a few plants and caves. i have another tank just waiting for breeding. i dont have a filter in there. instead i put the pleco in there for a week to clean it. it all seems to be working out just fine. i was just wandering what all advice u have for me. i cannot afford all of the fancy things needed for fry. but i am also not sure if she is ready to spawn please let me know. thank u for your time.
